Alexandria, VA April 26, 2007 — Project Honey Pot filed suit in the Eastern District of Virginia seeking damages for spam and email address harvesting targeting the Project's members.
The suit was filed against the entire universe of John Doe defendants using any of the 2,593,657 IP addresses captured by Project Honey Pot over the past two years, and seeks potentially more than $1 billion in statutory damages under the U.S. CAN-SPAM Act and the State of Virginia's Anti-Spam statute."

NSN Supporters Module Vulnerability
Guardian2003 writes "A vulnerability has been discovered in the NSN Supporters Module which, under some conditions may allow a hacker to conduct a successful XSS attack on affected sites.
The conditions required are either incorrectly set MIME TYPEs at server level or if the module is configured to allow upload of Supporter images.
With immediate effect:
If you are using this module, ensure you have not allowed image uploads.

montego writes "Since so many people have asked about a simple way to force approval of new user registrations, and, I had a personal need for such as well, I decided a few months back to take the latest RavenNuke(tm) 2.1.0 (also known as 2.10.00) Your Account module and the Approve Membership Module version 6.1.6 from Ulsoft and create a simplified "Lite" version that only has the user approval piece (i.e., no "Custom Fields"). I wish that I could have gotten this out sooner, but been busy. :-(
