Sentinel™ And Some Virus Scanners

The pop-up feature of Sentinel™ causes a false positive in KAV. This was reported by the Official Sentinel™ Development Team back on Monday, May 31, 2004, and posted as a Sticky note for all to see. There is no virus and never has been. McAfee, Norton, AVG, and Fix-it, just to name a few, do not flag this as a virus. But, since this is causing consternation to some, and is being used as a launching pad for more irresponsible and malicious attacks on a great product, we will shortly be issuing an update that will not cause this false positive.

Folks, consider this. Would Bob Marion, Chatserv, Raven, Sixonetonoffun, and others be developing, supporting, promoting, and distributing a product that really has a virus? This isn't about "them or us". Ask yourself why these attacks are happening and supported by the main site that is irresponsible for this. This is a reality check to everyone to consider. Are we trying to discredit other people's products? Are we posting irresponsible front page articles trying to slander other sites? No. And we won't. Sentinel™ is a great product and it is really a shame that supposedly professional people will stoop to the depths that some have to attack like this. All that had to be done was to simply read the sticky or even contact this site to ask a question. Why all this has to continue is beyond me. In any event, it is safe to download and use.

No!! I seriously doubt any of you guys would support it if it was a virus. I've been using phpnuke since 5.6...
(1) I have downloaded tons of Bob's products since 5.6 and never had a problem with them.
(2) The first person that ever gave me nuke support was Chatserv and I truely admire him for that. I was never a member of NC until I realized he was part of the staff. Actually, I followed him to NC ... LOL
(3) I have received outstanding support from Raven, Six & AI when they were part of NC staff.

I said that to say this, I trust them and their products. PC killer is scary but as it has been mention over and over and over again, you don't have to use it in order for sentinal to function.

I recall seeing someone post a link to the Symantec website which described a trojan so it is clear to me that the fine folks at Symantec have this one very well documented, i have on my pc Sentinel 1.0.0, 1.1.0 and 1.2.0 and have just now scanned all 3 packages both compressed and uncompressed with Norton antivirus which i keep up-to-date with new definitions, the result? nothing reported.

Just for the hell of it I downloaded and scanned it with my virus software System Suite 5.0 [www.v-com.com] and no viruses where detected.

Allegedly, KAV and Bittorrent both found a Trojan in Sentinel, Unfortunately, they were 2 different Trojans!!! I use Norton - nothing was found.

People REALLY need to get a grip. The people at this site work tremendously hard to help us protect and run our sites. I find it completely insulting to them as people that anyone would spread such a malicious lie about them and this product. You people should know better then to believe rumor and gossip. This is especially the case when a competitor has a hand in the rumor. Gaylen is a man of great integrity and he chooses his staff accordingly. The Sentinel product is wonderful, easy to use, and fully functional. It has protected my sites from many attackers and I thank the developement team for the work they are putting into it and its' improvemtents. I swear to god you all who think that this product is tainted should simply go uninstall it , take your chances out there and pray! Just remember that you doubted this site before you come back here for help when you get HACKED!!!!!

This is for Raven, Chatserv, Bob Marion, Sixonetonoffun, LadySliver - (and many others) Ask yourself this?

Who do we run to when things break?

Where do we go for help doing things from complex to simple?

And better yet - Where do we get answers?
Well in my not so humble opinion I run to Raven's, NukeResources, and NukeScripts. I go there because you treat people with dignity and humility and most of all you help.

Before I install something or try to upgrade.. I always visit Chat's site to look for fixes.. If he has not fixed it - I don't install it.:)

When it gets really difficult and I need someone to "hold my hand" I run to Raven - by web or phone!

I remember when Chatserv rescued my entire database from computer corruption hell and when Gaylen - provided the light at the end of my tunnel with numerous phpnuke errors and bugs!

You are all to be commended for the super work you do and continue to do - I have supported both your sites in the past and will continue to put a little in the pot for you!

Gaylen - as we discussed on the phone I am ready to test, use, and help with your Portal project in any way I can.

You are on the right path - please keep leading the way in quality products and service - the rest, God willing - will follow.

All the best and God bless you all! Thank you.

You have done o lot of good woek. I don't know, why nukecops are doing that, but I think - it's unfair.
