Bug In Polls/Articles?

There is a bug Yes I know your tired of me talking about those Smile

I tried to search for "articles, poll" and found nothing so I hope I'm not being redundant.

I had posted this in the modules forum - don't ask me how I managed that one...

If you post a news article and attach a poll it does not show up in the survey block. The survey block will show the title of the poll but no voting options or the survey block will say "there is a problem with content for this block".

If you post a poll as admin and attach an article it does not show up in the article's "Survey with this poll" section but it does not seem to bother the block.

So realizing there was something strange I tried doing it a couple of times and continued to have that problem but while I was doing it over and over a couple of times I noticed sometimes when I post a poll with an article it claims the "english" language when you list polls from the admin section and sometimes it doesnt ..... but this does not seem to affect the success of the block's display. For whatever that's worth.

After looking at this and trying to understand what you are talking about I have come to the conclusion that everything is working properly.

My reasoning for this is soo. Polls from articles are not supposed to show in the Survey Block. They are just supposed to show in the Article's Poll block when viewing the article. The reason for this being so you can have a poll on your site and have polls in the article.

If you want the poll for the article to show in the Survey Block then you must use the "Announce this new Survey in your site" section of the Survey admin (Which you found). The polls that are listed in the Survey Block are in now way (code wise) associated with news articles. The survey admin just provides an easy way to announce a new poll. This is the reason you see no poll in the article when created this way.

I am not able to recreate the language issue you describe. Are you saying that the poll has no language at all attached to it?

One enhancement I did find that was needed is that the Announcement part of the survey admin needs the wysiwyg editor added to it.

Okay then this explains the Survey in the article that comes and goes so then the problem would be the block trying to display a survey from an article when its not supposed to do that? I will now go and see if I can reproduce this 100% of the time.

i can say, it works on my site with existing Polls assigned to Articles without problems.
