It has offered many user registration and administration advantages over the default YA module since it was NSN YA. The 5.0 version (still in Beta) has some even better features. I'll get a detailed list and post it... |

I have contacted menelaos61 several times and requested a copy so that I could play with it. He has never responded. Since there hasn't been any news, is it even still a project? |

yes and no,im beginning to have the idea that its continued or worked on whenever he has some free time or whatever.
not the best situation to continue the development of such a script, not to mention that a lot of people are still waiting for a response to the question......when is it gonna be released?
And if time is the problem then maybe others can help with it or continue the work or in the worst scenario take over the project and finish it finaly...
Just a thought... |

Might be worth asking him if he wants to give it up or just fork the thing. |

well thats a good idea raven, its becoming a litle bit frustrated for a lot of people ,specialy for those that are asking for it every time.
If time is the problem then perhaps people with more time can continue or or whatever... |

Hi !!
CNB YA 5.0 seems to be so good (see for details).
By the way, I think the last person who has worked on it (except menelaos61) is 64bitguy : see [creating a new account doesn't work for me].
Still hoping it will be released soon !! |

The problem is that the last we heard from them is March, 2005. Menelaos61 has an account here and I have attempted to contact him both here and at his site and he is not responding. So, does anyone really know what the status is of this project? |

CNB Your Account 5.0.0 public beta 1 will probably be released somewhere November. It features a lot of membership features but also a configurable birthday field and optional countdown. Stay tuned...

Okay, but that even says November and the post was from September. What is the current status and when can we expect something? |

Hey guys,
Just a quick update for all of you.
I'm finalizing the next beta release for CNB Your Account as we speak.
I first pass it through the team of testers for some rough feedback.
It is about time this module will meet the masses.
TODO:
- security review by some external experts
- updating the translation of the module's language files.
I'm sorry for the miscommunication on my part and
the gap of silence that has caused some confusion.
I'm announcing March 1st as a hard date for the first public beta here.
Cheers,
Richard (menelaos61)

Of course, Raven,
I'm sending you my beta 1 candidate for CNB Your Account.
I'm interested very much in your comments after a quick review.
Also maybe you can spot some security issues of have some functional ideas.
The last months have been busy for me, preparing to get married next April.
Communication hasn't been optimal and I apologize anyone that feels dissapointed about that.
Have a good day, guys.
Cheers and some friendly smiles from the Netherlands

That's good news Richard !!
I'll try to help you to update the French translation (which I made for the very first release of CNB YA) when I have some free time. |

Is it to late to be considered for beta testing CNB YA 5? Or where do I go to find out? |

You can request participation in beta testing and get the latest versions in two places:
or
(though I got a blank page trying to access this site just now) |

Personally, I'm sick of waiting on this. I have some updates to the next version of my module and a forum issue to resolve then I guess I could take another look at this beasty.
I might not be able to fix it but if the issues can be identified, that as to be a start. |

I hear you, Guardian2003. It has been pretty frustrating. We can pick it up and go from there...as if we did not already have enough to do. |

Yes, I think we should just 'run with it' and see what happens.
There doesn't even seem to be any real activity on source forge any more.
One more thing to add to the 'to do' list I guess. |
