Agreed, but that's how it has always been since FB released it with that setting and we didn't change it.

It's just a typo. It still works as it should.
1=on 0=off

Well, yes & no. The logic in index.php was corrected by someone in 2001 but the instructions were never changed Smile

Ok, here is the deal. Whether we like FB's mess or not, I feel that if we change how the code behaves now, it could cause even more confusion, or worse, when / if someone upgrades to a later release of RN, they could end up having the reverse of the "lock out" occur. So, instead of create more confusion, I'll just explain the two settings here in more detail:

$blockunregmodify

This setting within Web Links' l_config.php script is for submitting CHANGES to existing links, not for new links. The comment at the top of the script is correct in how it reads:

"Block unregistered users from suggesting links changes? (1=Yes 0=No)"

$links_anonaddlinklock

This setting is for submitting NEW links. The comment after it is written so bad by FB that it is really confusing. So, I have taken the liberty of correcting the entire comment to make it more understandable as well as to make it be reflective of how the code is written (rather than changing the code):

"Allow Unregistered users to Suggest New Links? (1=Yes 0=No)"

This simple change in the comment text should make this more clear.

I have had mine set to "0" for years as I do not want unregistered users to be able suggest new links. Works like a champ, however, ONLY RavenNuke(tm) 2.10.x+ also has the code that I modified in Web Links to correct a "by-pass" that was possible (the bypass would allow links to be submitted and so the admin would have a ton of crap to clean up all the time... ).
