if i click any short name link i get a 404 error

if i goto forums long name link i get

how do you get the gt admin?

That error suggests you didnt make the sessions.php file edits correctly.
You might want to recheck that.

As I said, you need to check the edit you made as it was obviously not a problem before then.
If you are using RN202 I have one already modified if that is any help.

Hmm actually, the original core file will work for you. You dont need that function areyouabout so you can simply use the existing core file as I have done.
However if you wanted to use it, it should be;

Going back to the RN202 sessions.php fix's the forum error but I still have the 404 problem

Hmm, you mention getting 404 errors on short (tapped) url's.
I have not employed the modules.php edit or DB alteration myself as I dont wanted to be messing with core tables due to this particular sit being a test bed for RN as well as a production site so I am going to guess this is the problem.
Is it only happening on main menu links?
What happens with

Can you post a link to your site, also your .htaccess file and verify that you have a GT-module for each portion that is having the problem?

Just so you know the edit to sessions.php is there to keep the session id from showing up in the URL, which would be a big no-no. I would recommend making the edit to sessions.php (and doing it correctly Wink

As it was bedtime I made a hasty retreat on the install. I'll give it another go tonight or tomorrow.

My concerns with the install on RN202

Is using Main Menu Web Installer for Nuke 7.0 ok? (Uninstall was as easy as install)
What edits should I do to admin if any?
The correct sessions.php edits gave an error on a different line (could just be the edit was in a different place)
I'm confused about making edits to my core blocks (is this needed, if so how, Should I be using the 040 core blocks?)

I copied the .htaccess from 040 and added it to the end of mine
I did ftp the GoogleTap folder.
I used the block-Sommaire-GT.php from gt-nextgen.com and the block-Old_Articles.php from 040 ( both gave a 404 error)
I dont think Sommaire 404 errors was on all links (mostly mine, feedback was ok)
