User logon issue...and I think I've done the obvious already

Newly created a user yesterday: She can't log in.

These are the steps I went through so far:
1. Her cookies/cache are cleared.
2. Password reset using admin tool.
3. 'Incorrect Login' error

...so I tried to log in as her:
1. Cleared *my* cookies/cache
2. Tried to log in with the new password
3. 'Incorrect Login' error
4. Deleted account, then re-created it
5. Added permissions to the forums
6. Cleared my cookies/cache
7. 'Incorrect Login' error
8. Check phpmyadmin under user list for the appropriate name
9. Repeat steps 4 thru 8
10. Poked around the banned user stuff in phpbb and checked out Sentinel, but didn't find anything. I'm sure I've exceeded the max logons...but where is that info preserved (if relevant)?

No dice. Razz

I should also mention I tried both IE and FF...have perused the forums through 6 google pages and most of the errors I've read about were relating to admins having trouble logging in.

Does anyone have any ideas?

...should also add I had a similar issue with another user last night. The problem went away when I deleted/recreated/assigned permissions again.

Looks like a third delete/re-create/assign priviledges worked.

The difference? Time...I think.

Is there a specific user lockout release I've missed somewhere?

Which version of forums are you using?
