OK, I have posted about this before, and tried many different configurations, but my cookies are not working. My search of the site has not helped. Whil it has offered different advice, none have worked for me up to this point (been working this for about 3-4 weeks now).
Basically, every setting I try resolves in the same problems. A member accesses the site and sees that there are 30 or so unread messages. The forums with unread posts display a different graphic. The member clicks on the forum and sees a thread with a new post and they click on that. Whether they click Forums or the back button, when they go back it is as if all the unread posts have been read.. they are all now marked read, and the number of new posts now says (0)
I am running RavenNuke, and within that 2.0.19 phpbb.
Here is what I have right now in the Forum configuration:
Domain Name: secondchancebirdrescue.com/phpnuke
Cookie Domain: secondchancebirdrescue.com/phpnuke
Cookie Name: SCBR
Cookie Path: /modules/Forums/
The site is installed within the public_html directory, but in a subdirectory with a different name, like /public_html/ravennuke/
Any ideas? |

So why in the 7.8 forum?
Ok..question...
is there a reason why the site is in a phpnuke directory? |

Well, basically I have the site setup so that I can also provide a website for adoptions and such for the woman I am helping. She runs the rescue and I help her with the web stuff.
Basically, for simplicity I used FrontPage for the main pages, this way I can FTP her the files and she can also make updates when she is ready. |

Well, the standard settings didn't work. Previous postings suggested several combinations, and they also did not work. However, I just found this post and am trying it now and will see if it works.

OK, it looks like my problem was not including a . at the beginning of the Cookie Domain. |
