I´ve never understood why some films are listen under the top five.
For me is Borat the worst movie I saw this year.

This type of humour is currently the in thing in the UK and probably comes under the title cringe worthy humour. I don't know how he gets away with some of the stuff!

I haven't seen the movie myself and I'm not rushing out to see it, but some of his other stuff as Ali G I do find funny.

Did you watch it with subtitles, because I think some of the humour may be lost if your reading the subtitles?

I did´t watch the subtitles anyway if I get money to look this movie again I wouldn´t and I´m very sure that the producer Wim Wenders "Land of plenty" would make a great film with exact the same stuff.

me being british and not seeing this film yet , i disagree with him being stupid , you might or might not know his other character was ali G.

even though he comes across as stupid he has interviewed british MP`s and even though they eventual thought his questions where stupid (childish) his question/s in some cases where thought out.
and where not to be taken seriously in anycase just really light humour about british politics, everyone needs time out about that subjects, seeing your MP in a more normal light instead of all serious issues every day on the news.

Getting back to Borat, they total hated him at first in that country for making them look bad, but now they love him as their trourism trade has taken off like a rocket with people wantingto have a 3 day holiday away with wifey as a surprise. Its kinda like having a tester biscuit at a supermarket. to see if you will like the whole 2 weeks or the whole packet kinda thing. In some seens i did see it was completely silly but if you look at it in a more political way and seeing that those , woman should be tied to a sink , people should get treated subhuman kinda way because they are poor and how wrong that is. you see the point he was trying to make. Even though people disliked him for taking the Pi** out of that country for being poor and so furth he highlighted how people are still that way in the world and how people atitudes to those real type of bigots and woman are poor people are sub human. and should be treated that way.
his point was in some way what has really changed since WWII. and abolition of the slave trade.

which since child abduction for the sex industry after the tsunami is still alive and kicking, in all countries, are the governments really trying to stamp it out ? as its in Britian today with the influx of iligal imegrants and mobsters traficing them for this purpose.
he has highlighted those issues for me.

sorry it goes on soooo long
