email authentication

I am worried that spammers may get into my board as people are joining and anyone can activate thier account (providing it is legitimate), the other problem I am having is that I dont receive (as site owner) and email to notify me that someone has joined!

I have checked the configuration in the general settings of the admin CP and there it is ticked for Admin but unfortunately I still do not get emails to say someone has joined (I even did a tester member myself and was able to go straight in after activation my email, deleted the member shortley afterwards though). Friend has the platinum version and he said he gets emails.. then again thats the platinum version.

*begs* please help as I dont want my board spammed and I would like to keep track of members joining. Site is:

phpNuke does not use the forums configuration settings. I recommend installing the Approve Membership mod

Beware, though, it requires a ton of script modifications or overwriting your existing core nuke files, so make sure you get the right version for your nuke AND if you have already made hacks to some of these scripts, you will have some analysis on your hands.

That is classic NukeSentinel. You can search on that exact message here in the forums and you can read all about it.

PM me your email address and the IP address that you use to access the site.

Now, if you are behind a corporate firewall or using a proxy or ???? maybe you can try it where you are not using these... For example, maybe you tried it from work and when you get home, maybe you won't get this.
