My main site catchall email is unusable and quite a pain to try to empty due to returns of emails never sent from my site.
For some reason spammers send out lots of emails using fake emails tied to my domain. They basically spam with the return being "anyname"@mysite.com
The receiving sites all send me the returns for blacked due to spam or unable to send.
Anyway to stop this ? I know a lot of places will not even receive valid email from my website. |

Let me first say that I am NO expert in this area, but you may want to research the following two sites:
- they even have a wizard to help you determine the right settings to make. You may need your host to set this up.
- requires only very minor changes to your footer.php or use a custom_footer.php in your includes/custom_files directory.

I simple deactiveted that feature "Catch all" and also "Autoresponder" to reduce the spam email traffic.
But check this also about greylisting:
