I found a script at phpbb.com that loads your current phpbb cookie settings, then suggests the proper settings (if applicable). It will then apply those suggestions, or any setting you want to manually set, via a web form.
This script should mainly be used by Forum support personel who may feel a posted issue might be a wrong cookie setting. The script allows the user to run the script without making ANY changes, and then copy/paste the results to a support post for recommended action (if any). If a recommendation is made, they can run the script again and easily apply the new setting.
This script was designed (obviously) for standalone phpBB. What I did is ported it for use within Nuke. It is one small file, which is dropped into the main Forums folder (nuke_root/modules/Forums), and then called from a URL. You MUST be logged in as Nuke Super User/Admin for the script to run.
Support people at Raven's: I suggest you download this, read the readme1st file for all needed information, then run this script on a few sites you maintain. That way you can confidently advise a person with login or SESSION errors to download this file, post the results here, and then run the script again to make any changes you might suggest for them.
Of particular note (as also noted in the doc), if you have someone make any change to their cookie settings, you must remind them to clear their cookies and temp internet files for the changes to be in effect. If they do this to a live production site, they will need to instruct their users to do the same.
Use this post to discuss any problems you might find with the script....

Script designed to run with Nuke 6.x and up and phpBB 2.x, although it has not been tested with the Nuke 8.x series. Testing platform was RN 2.10.01, MySQL 5.x, PHP 4.x, Apache 2.x. DO NOT use with standalone phpBB, and this script will not work if Forums have been moved from /modules/Forums.

Great little mod. Worth pointing out for idiots like myself (and therefore not really the people this mod is aimed at!) that it needs to be called with /modules.php?name=Forums&file=cookie
