I have a pretty big PHP-Nuke 7.2 site with Sentinel 2.1.3, which works very well and I don't want to upgrade until I really must. One thing that is not working is the Web Links search, which return no information at all. I have now discovered that this must be caused by Sentinel 2.1.3.
I put up a fresh install of PHP-Nuke 7.2 on a local testserver and added the information from database about links.
Search in Web Links worked.
I copied the patched files from /modules/Web_Links to corresponding place on the test server.
Search in Web Links worked.
I copied over the patched and modified files (by Sentinel installation) in root like index.php, mainfile.php etc.
Search in Web Links worked, but I got Warning messages that includes/sentinel.php was missing.
Copied over sentinel.php
The test site went down and failed to find language/sentinel/lang-english.php.
I copied over this missing file and the site was up again, but now:
Search in Web Links did not work.
I substituted lang-english.php with an empty file, the site worked, but not the search in Web Links.
To me it seems that sentinel.php may be the culprit.
Is there any easy fix of this? |

I would strongly recommend upgrading NukeSentinel. 2.1.3 is so far back that I don't even have it and cannot help you.
web Links is working just fine with NukeSentinel 2.5.13. Just keep in mind that so much has changed from 2.1.3 to 2.5.x, even the names of the files, so you should REMOVE what you have and re-install the latest.
Not staying up with the latest is the same as inviting disaster over for dinner. |

Older versions of NukeSentinel and Web Links works well.I´m not talking about the bugs in weblinks because I don´t know if this was ever fixed in 7.3.
Its just strange that you worry about the search in Web Links while your website is insecure. |

I have now upgraded my site to 7.6, latest patch and Sentinel 2.5.13. Search in Web Links works now. I have noted that, if a title of link contains parenthesis and one tries to rate this link one is banned by Sentinel, both version 2.1.3 and 2.5.13. |

Yeah we encountered the same problem in RavenNuke. I modified Web Links and Downloads to not put the ttitle= string in the link. If the title contained "funny" characters" you would be banned when you clicked on the link. |
