Further down this forum is a post from last year suggesting NSN GR downloads, I just want to make sure this is compatible with my ravennuke version. and/or make sure there is not now a better option for accepting user uploads.

Can any advise?

This is probably one of the best options. There's also a hack to incorporate the RN captcha as well.

ok I wasent sure since the NSN GR readme said I needed nuke 7.4 and NSN groups installed...so do I need NSN groups or is it "built" in with ravens?

NSN Groups is built into RavenNuke, yes.
