My site is hosted by a friend at karthost.com

Roy offers PHP Nuke as a default site tool. I have wrote him the following e-mail trying to get him to adopt Raven Nuke:

I have been using PHP Nuke for over 5 years on several diffrent sites. PHP Nuke is a great site platform but unfortunatly it has some MAJOR issues with security thanks to the creators aditude of quantity over quality.

There is a group of individuals that have created a version of PHP Nuke that has fixed many of the security holes that allow hackers to infultrate PHP Nuke sites. The version of PHP Nuke is called Raven Nuke which is based on Nuke version 7.6 (the least hackable of the latest PHP Nuke versions) For more information on the Raven Project please go to (www.ravenphpscripts.com) Admin Note: This (www.ravenphpscript.com) should be ravenphpscripts.com - Notice the s is missing in the original letter.

A combination of the service of KartHost.com and Raven Nuke 2.20 (their latest version just released last week after 10 months of beta testing) would be a prefect winning combo.

Roy I know you have alot on your plate but please look into changing your PHP offering.

Eric Rector

(My site is racingkart.TV I would be more than happy to give you full access to my site admin so that you can see what Raven Nuke has to offer to users. If you would like to check out my site admin please let me know)

Keep up the great work Raven and team

Eric

Unfortunately, the URL in the letter is wrong (left out an "s") and will take the person to a different site.

If you are correcting the letter with your host you might also add that Ravennuke corrects many longstanding (literally 1000's) of bugs in PHPNUKE and goes a long way to complying with W3C standards. It is also much more efficient than the current versions of PHPNUKE and thus will require less server resources to achieve similar results.

Another way to help is to add bookmarks on sites like Digg and del.icio.us and in blogs... low cost ways to increase awareness and build the community.

I think fantastico should look into adopting ravennuke

*EDIT*

I droped this post into sitegrounds phpnuke help forum as to they do not offer much help in that field:

Quote:

After a year of research before purchasing my websites here. I had one thing in mind security and nuke. PhpNuke, due to the content they use, it is put out before most of it is tested most versions of nuke are not very secure. But security and nuke sites is what everyone is looking for.

The problem with all the newer releases is that all they do as add some modules nice new hacks and fix a couple of bugs(not all of them). The goal is to get new versions out as fast as they can. Quantity does not equal quality.

But after months of reading and research, I found a gem of a site with plenty of help. The sites name is:

They provide free information and their staff is wonderful at helping out people. They base their distro of nuke off of 7.6(the most secure version of nuke todate). They have fixed thosands of loop-holes and bugs and are constantly improving their product, which by the way is free.

They provide support for templates, modules, blocks and other addons you might want to use. They are very informative. You will not find better help anywhere else.

So again if you are looking for a working good copy of PhPNuke, I suggest you visit:

I hope siteground does not mind this post as it will help their customers.

I wonder if they will delete it. :/

There was some discussion some time ago (initiated by 64bitguy) with Fantastico about opening up the ability to add scripts (vs. only letting Fantastico control that). Not sure if it has been updated since then, but it might be worth a look.

Now this is definitely music to my ears. I have waited a very long time to hear this, so forgive me if I keep bumping it until there is even better news Smile

I have lost track of the thread that kguske mentioned, though I remember contributing to it. I believe at the time they were hoping to allow some flexibility in V3.0 of Fantastico which I would think should be out now so I'll have to refresh myself with it.

Great news!
