Ok so I'm looking at putting banners on my website for advertising, i've looked at the advertising module in the admin panel and set a client up then added 1 of the paypal test banners to my site to appear at the top of the page, I also tried to set it to bottom but I couldn't see anything. What I want is a block on the left and a block in the centre which has a banner in saying "advertise here" like montego has and others. How do I put a banner into a block and place it where I want? I can get 1 advertising block to appear but that it and don't know how to put banners inside it.

The top position is usually defined in your theme.php file. The left position is defined if you load the Advertising block. Anything else, you will need to copy the code and set the ads(#) function with the correct position number

Another way to do it, if you don't need randomized ads, is just to create a new HTML block with your code

I'm not sure how to set codes and stuff in the theme is there not a way I can just add a block in the centre left and bottom with the banner picture inside it without messing with the coding in files? There must be a module or programme you can use to put them in blocks or move blocks where you want?

Just create a new block through the phpNuke interface, put your HTML there, done.
