My stats module isn't reporting the correct amount of hits per person.

Just refreshing the page gives me from 5331 to 5349. This is from a site that usually gets between 300 - 800 hits per day.

...any help on fixing this much appreciated.

Are you talking about the standard Stats module/block?

I seem to recall this being discussed before in the forums, a search may reveal the answer.

Has the stats module ever worked? I'm just wondering if something in the theme, or a module is calling the counter code more than once.

Any new modules recently?

Can you provide us with a link so we can have a look ourselves?

Is you stats module accessible to visitors?

The visits in the User Info block appears to be incrementing correctly.

Hmm strange. It was accessible, but i disabled it after noticing the dodgy stats, do you need access to it?

Weird i still have the problem here, I just refershed and it added another 10, do you think it has something to do with admin status?

If you log out of admin and as a user does it still happen?

Have you tried with a different browser?

Ah yes I am seeing that also now.

I am running out of ideas now. If you haven't changed anything at all then it shouldn't just start happening. Confused

kaain, you may realize that there could be more people at the same time visiting your site, thus increasing the amount of impressions everytime you refresh but if you were the only one on the site then after refreshing the amount of impresions would be increasing one by one.

I had thought the same thing, but User Info box was telling me there was only 3 visitors on the site at the time and it incremented by more than three times that. I really have run out of ideas now. Sad

Hmm, I've just looked now and it is incrementing in 1's and I am the only one on the site, according to the user info block. So perhaps it is working OK. Confused

I've just checked again now and it is incrementing correctly. If there is a problem it is intermittent.

Spambots would still show up as users on the site though, or even search engine bots.
