One of my users was blocked today for attempting to rate a link. Not sure exactly what happened (he was probably trying to rate it again as Anonymous). Anyway, this is what I found:

Logged in as a user, I could access the Web Links module and rate links without issue. I logged out (now Anonymous) and tried to rate a link and got blocked (Abuse-Script).

Quote:
Get String: mydomain.org/modules.php?name=Web_Links&l_op=ratelink&lid=64&ttitle=Title_of_the_Link

I then unblocked myself (edited nuke_nsnst_blocked_ip table and .htaccess file) and logged in as God and configured the Web Links module so that only Registered Users could access it. I then logged out as God, logged in as user, and all is good. However, and I expected to see this, if I copied the URL to rate a link, then logged out and pasted the URL into my browser, I got blocked again. Laughing

The problem now is that I would like to allow anonymous visitors to access Web Links, and not block them from the site if they attempt to rate a link. It'd be better to tell them they are not able to rate links unless they're a registered user.

Any help sure would be appreciated.

Found it. If the Link title has parentheses and a user tries to rate it, they get blocked.

Yes, that will do it. We "fixed" the Web Links and Downloads in RavenNuke to stop putting that ttitle junk in the link.
