Is this possible? I would rather just do a scratch install than migrate down from the awful 7.8 version of phpnuke (I KNEW better, just figured I'd try it...buggy...very buggy).

My question is if I downgrade my current database, can I just do a fresh install using raven nuke 2.20.x and my current database? I'd hate to lose everything in there.

Yes you can do that. Please see the HowToInstall document in the RN distribution for some hints.
