Well, it appears that the RC0 release is pretty stable since there have only been a couple of issues DIRECTLY accountable to the release code. So far, here is what the RC1 will fix/change:

RC1 Change Log
Corrected Waiting Content Insert code into blocks table
Removed extra kisgb.zip file in modules folder
    Added missing image images/blocks/arrow-blk.gif
Added a standard SQL file for use in manually loading phpMyAdmin
Removed the AddOn pack. This will be a separate d/l
Removed all AUTO_INCREMENT= values in the SQL

Any issues with the Installer I haven't been able to [yet] isolate and/or reproduce. I will continue to distill it though.

The RC1 will compress down to 9,131kb (8.9meg) and the addon pack to 5,100kb (4.98meg) Smile

Well, I will plan on releasing RC1 sometime today. If you have any other issues you'd better get them in, in a hurry! I will plan on releasing a production version shortly after RC1 if all goes well. Thanks for the feedback thus far!

I would sure like to here more feedback on the Installer. Should I keep it or not?

The installer did not work for me either, same error as those listed by several others:

Raven,

This is what I got when I ran the new index.php
Quote:
===========
localhost
xxxxxxxx
XXXXXXXX
===========

Connected successfully to your MySQL Server!

Unable to connect to MySQL database mysql with these credentials: Access denied for user: xxxxxxxx@localhost' to database 'mysql'

Same as before. And I used the exact names as in my config.php. Sorry.

You should. At that point, fill in the password and the database name and hit submit.

Okay, I've got this working, I hope/think, under Linux. Please try d/l it again and running it.

Raven,
I'm currently at work, and can't get FTP access thru our firewall, so I won't be able to test this until after 6 PM Eastern. Sorry

I re-downloaded and tried it again. Different error this time
Quote:
Connected successfully to your MySQL Server!

Warning: mysql_num_rows(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource in /home/xxx/xxx/ocity/html/install/index.php on line 66

Note: This user does not have Create Database Permissions for this MySQL server. Either select another user/pass combination or you will need to create the database first and then come back to this utility to create the tables.
Very Happy

The databse is already built and populated.

It did not give me that option. The only other things on the page where the server, correct user name and password. Do you want me to delete all and start from scratch?

Are you sure that that user/pass combination has all permissions? The reason I ask is that I am running mine on the same linux box as you and it works.

Sure. What browser wasn't working? I'd have to think that that would have been a cache/cookie issue, wouldn't you?

Normally, I would agree, but that myIE2 has given me a lot of trouble. I will delete the db right now and try it as a new install.

Same problem, it's telling me there is an error on line 66 - /install/index.php. Then it say's I dont have permission to create the database. It directs me to go and create one and then use that utility again.

Well, you don't have permission, that's true. So you MUST create the database in cPanel. Was this using MyIE2 again?
