Hmm Caching seems good

OK, So I guess the idea of this script is to cache blocks so the overall page load time is decreased.

Would it be possible to perhaps extend this caching feature to a folder?
I'm thinking of the benefits that might be gained from caching the /images folder in particular.

Images aren't good candidates for caching since they are static and already compressed there isn't much more we can do for them in this way.

Everything went smoothly and I put one of my blocks (with the changed require line) back into the cache. Very nice job, thank you. First, a comment - I received an sql error because the table already existed. I fixed that by deleting the table Bang Head

Secondly, how is the time measured? 3600 = 1 hour? Thanks again. Steve

Thanks for the comment six.
It is rather a shame because my own site uses some pretty heavy graphics in articles etc. Perhaps the time is right for me to revisit those graphics and look to where load times might be saved by further reducing the file size.

This thread has certainly given me food for thought and I'll definitely try out the cache mod - thanks!

You didn't need to replace the SQL. You erased your settings that way. I'll make sure to clarify that in the next release.

Checked for me with the Sun Solaris version of the ioncube lib
Everything is fine with the modif.

Perhaps some ideas for the future ?

1. Caching the module ? (Cache Lite can do it)

2. If the block is cached, writting a last line in the content with for exemple : [Cached 3600] that is displayed with the block (just a line in your fonction with 'content=content+.....'

#1. Not as easy as it sounds. Blocks are easy because all the output is stored in a variable before displaying. Blocks vary in complexity and the manner in which the display is handled. I have been experimenting though.
