Hello,

I'm still running an old 6.5 setup, but wanted to know a few tips and tricks to speed the site up a bit. Mine has always had a few second delay when navigating around.

I've tried a few things like removing all unused modules and blocks, going with a less graphic intense theme, etc. They seemed to help a little bit, but it is still slower than most Nuke sites. I still have a few second delay before it starts loading the page.

Is there any tips and tricks that worked for you guys?

By carefully caching certain blocks where the content doesn't need to be refreshed as often as others, you can gain quite alot. Check out my Cache Lite Admin Module in the downloads for more information. I cut my response time in half.

I downloaded the module... but in the readme it says that this download will timeout on 31.12.2004... so I guess it won't work when I'll install it... ?

I haven't put another demo together. However, it is available for purchase for $25.

Maybe I would consider buying it, because it seams like a handy tool, Wink but I would like to see the difference it'll make on my site... So if you could make another demo version... I will be very glad to test it and hopefully buy it... Wink

I bought it and couldn't be more pleased with it. It cut my load times in half at least. I'm still experimenting with it, but I would not hesitate to recommend it at this point. RavensScripts

Thanks Steve! Please understand that the CacheLite product is FREE. This is an administrative add-on that gives power and easability to the admin. CacheLite can run w/o it.
