Strange error that new subscribers to my site have been reporting...

When these users are not logged into the site, they can read and see the forums no problem.

When they log in and attempt to view the same post, no message is displayed. Just the standard page blocks for the site theme. Same thing happens when they try to access the PHPBB search page or even browse the main list of forums.

I've logged in as these users as well and can confirm its a problem with these accounts - not a corrupt cookie or browser issue.

Again, its only with new subscribers. This is on Nuke 7.5

Any other info or specs needed, please let me know...

Thanks again!

Check your User status in your Forum Control Panel. It sounds like they're not active.

yep... sure enough, I go into the forums administration... under USER ADMIN I click on MANAGEMENT and look up the problematic user ID. At the bottom of the user administration page under the USER IS ACTIVE field, it was set to "no". I set it to "yes" saved, logged in as them and lo and behold, its working.

Any clue as to why that would be defaulting to "no" for new users, and how I might set it to default to "yes" for all new users?

Thanks again Raven! Smile

Normally it only resets to NO when a user changes his email address. Using phpMyAdmin, look at the structure for the user_active field. It should say default 1
