One of the loyal supporters of this site and a long time Internet buddy, Guardian2003, received word today that his mother has died. Please keep him and all those touched by her passing in your prayers and thoughts. Drop him a condolence card/note if you get the chance. I am reprinting a poem from my father's funeral in hopes of comfort.
I am standing upon the seashore. A ship at my side spreads her white sails to the morning breeze and starts for the blue ocean. She is an object of beauty and strength. I stand and watch her until at length she hangs like a speck of white cloud just where the sea and sky come to mingle with each other.
Then someone at my side says, "There, she is gone!"
"Gone where?"
Gone from my site. That is all. She is just as large in mast and hull and spar as she was when she left my side and she is just as able to bear her load of living freight to her destined port.
Her diminished size is in me, not in her. And just at the moment when someone at my side says: "There, she is gone!" there are other eyes watching her coming, and other voices ready to take up the glad shout: "Here she comes!"
And - that is dying.

Guardian,
My condolences as well. These are never easy times. I lost my father suddenly in 2001 and understand what comes next. You and your family are in our prayers. You need anything, just holler.

I would just like to thank you all for your kind words and thoughts, they are very much appreciated.
My Mother passed away suddenly but peacefully at home in the arms of my Father so she did not die alone - no one should ever be alone and I am truly thankful to Him for that small blessing.
Whilst I do not want this post to sound like a eulogy, she was a caring, loving and very thoughtful persn who was totally selfless.
Whilst travelling the 150+ miles to be with my Dad in his hour of need I kept hearing a song in my mind, a song I had not heard for over 10 years and I would like to share that with you as it reminded me so much of my mom.
| Quote: | If I ruled the world
Every day would be
The first day of Spring
Every heart would have
A new song to sing
And we'd sing of the joy
Every morning would bring
If I ruled the world
Every man would be
As free as a bird
Every voice would be
A voice to be heard
Take my word
We would treasure each day
That occurred
My world would be
A beautiful place
Where we would weave
Such a wonderful dream
My world would wear
A smile on its face
Like the man in the moon
When the moon beams
If I ruled the world
Every man would say
The world was his friend
There'd be happiness
That no man could end
No my friend
Not if I ruled the world
Every head
Would be held up high
There'd be sunshine
In everyone's sky
If day ever dawned
When I ruled the world
If I ruled the world
