In case you hadn't read any of the articles about 7.7 that are published here, my domain or any of the many other places, let me be the first person to come right out and say, don't use it.
There are many serious problems with that "interum" version of PHP-Nuke, least of which being some forums issues. More substantially are how the TinyMCE editor was integrated totally wrong and to make matters worse, security has been stripped away to accomodate it.
I suggest that you do a search for articles about this version, but most of all that you simply not use it as you are at severe risk.
What's more, things get somewhat worse with Version 7.8 and substantially worse with 7.9. I suggest you use version 7.6 which is much more stable and secure. If you feel that you need to use a version with the TinyMCE editor, I would say that out of the 3 versions that use it, 7.8 is the best... but again, this is a situation where any of these versions are very insecure and have literally thousands of bugs.
Just think you should know before you waste too much time on it. |

Me thinks the 7.7 7.8 and 7.9 forums might warrant a sticky re this issue at it keeps cropping up? |

I think there already is at least 1 if not more. I don't know how many times and ways we can say it . Let me know if there isn't a sticky and I will make one, for sure. |

Unless you are prepared to rewrite Nuke, in 7.7 through 7.9 there is no middle ground. Just so you know, it's nobody's fault except Mr. Francisco Burzi, the PHP-Nuke so-called author. If you want normal functionality without all of these issues, 7.6 or earlier is your only solution. Else, be prepared to rewrite the entire solution, which (if you really know what you are doing) should take you between 300 and 400 hours of recoding. At least that's how long it took me. |
