Hello all, I have tapped my phpbb forum
Only registered users can see links on this board!
Get registered or login to the forums!
for short url`s and all works fine my end unfortunately today I looked at my site on a friends PC and the url`s show the long view topic php ones ?
any idea`s how to fix this ?

Works fine for me! Perhaps, the long URI's were stuck in his cache, or the zone files/cache at his ISP, or whatever.

Tapping isn't a cure-all, in itself, unless you use redirects, and so forth. For instance, I got lazy when I tapped my Popularity Checker. You can get to it by either...

I could fix this in a few seconds, but who cares, you know? Smile

If this really bothers you, I suppose you could fix it with some '.htaccess' directives...

That was the first time I have ever checked my new forum on his PC so that would rule the cache issue out. but I see your point Smile

No problem...

I might mention, a good way to check you site is to use a proxy. That'll save a trip to your bud's house. There are zillions of proxy servers out there.

You should be made aware though, that using a proxy instead of your buds house does not include free beer and pizza LOL
