Most of the errors I get after a fresh install fall into 2 catagories.
1. errors in my config.php file - entered the wrong data to connect to db.
2. FTP malfunctions that resulted in an empty file, or it just plain never got FTP'd at all.
Carefully checking these things would have saved alot of my time - I am now a real fan of checking everything 2 or 3 times before searching for answers here or elsewhere. ravenphpscripts.com is by far the best place I have found for getting help, but the volume of posts here makes it daunting to actually find what I want when searching through the forums. And most of the time the solution is a common one that could have been traced back to one of the two items listed above.
Now, when I try to modify a particular feature -- that is when I get into trouble.
