css and page load time

I have been suffering from long page load times on my site. After a lot of messing about trying to find the problem one item from my css looks like it's the culprit but I don't know why. I took it out because WC3 css didn't like border-to-width being redefined. This could just be a coincident but it seems to make a difference of up to 5 sec's.

hr{border: 0px solid #f6f6ee;border-top-width:1px}

Anyone see a problem with this?

Interesting. Seems harmless enough. Have you tried it in different browsers to see if it affects some browsers more than others?

It's hard to tell, as I said it could just be a coincidence.

I changed it to

hr{border: 0px solid #f6f6ee;border-top-width:1px;height:0px}

now it validates, maybe firefox was taking time looking for the height
