You could just use the news module or journal module that come with PHP-Nuke...

Someone was working on a phpBB mod for a blogger. I am thinking it was NukeKorea but could be wrong... You might find it by doing a Google search on Raven's site here (because it was announced here long back) or just a regular global Google search.

it is called
the_blog_mod_phpnuke_clh201b_115
I have implimented this for a few clients and they love it. There are a few different ones out there but this is the least flawed, most current, and best supported. It looks and functions just wonderfully!

there are a few different ones there. please be sure to get the correct one. I think, could be wrong, but I think you must download this from inside the thread in the forums.

lol.. well, to be fair. They have put a great deal of work into it but have clearly stated that it is a work in progress. The clients of mine who use it seem to have no issues with it. Of course, I check for updates to it periodicly.

That is fair. I just chucked because sometimes people take software quality for granted - usually those that haven't developed it... It amazes that there is some really good quality free or open-source software - and it makes me appreciate the effort teams like our RavenNuke team makes to have the "least flawed" Nuke distribution around. It's a testament to Raven's guidance and experience and Montego's follow-through.

I could not agree with you more. It is a wonderful thing that they all do both here and elsewhere. It would be far too much to expect this site to keep up with the VAST amount of bb mods available and needed. I think that it is wonderful that we, as a community, have several great site with people dedicated to making things run better for all of us. I think people do not realize what it takes to do so much for a community the size of the nuke one.

What I did for a blog. Okay it's simplistic but I wanted a blog but at the same time I didn't want to crowd up the main page with say the last 10 days of my blogs and any older news articles would get pushed down into old articles. So what I did was create a topic called "whatever I want" (with a topic image I selected) and a category called blog. Since the category is not "articles" you have the option to not post it on the main page. So whenever I want a blog I just go choose that topic and category and stick it on the main page for a day or two. Then when I want a new entry or I think the blog article has "aged" enough I just go select don't show it on main page -- oops Publish in Home is what the choice is called -- so I say no. If someone clicks on the topic image for the blog they will see all my blog entries nicely archived and if not then only the latest one is on the home page. Of course I'm the admin but this could work for users too using submit news. You could either give them each a separate topic or let all the blogs run together. You'd just need to police up what stays on the main page ... or just decide to never post the blogs there and train people to go look for them in their own area. Maybe it's not "as good" as a separate module but it does what I want for now and the development cost is zero.

Is it a blog for you to use, or your users?

Erm, is there something wrong with the Journal module?
I know that's a stupid question but it might serve some needs Smile

journal just looks/feels awkward and un-blog-like.. doesn't display all your posts in the open, successive with user comments on them and older/newer navigation.

eg.
