Using phpMyAdmin, copy and paste it into your SQL tab for your database. Then select Go.

Great! Another way is to click the Browse button in the sql window, select the file from the open window dialog and then click Go. That way you don't have to do a copy and paste. And yet a third way, which is best for large files, is to create an upload directory and set the setting
$cfg['UploadDir'] = './uploads/';
or whatever you want to name it. Then, copy the sql file to that directory and select it from the sql window. That way, the file isn't transfered from your pc to the sql server. It is loaded right from the same server where the database is.

Back to foolin' with SQL... how do I 'insert' a table into an existing database? I'm trying to put a radio on my site and it says insert table...

Code:

DROP TABLE IF EXISTS `nuke_radio`;
CREATE TABLE `nuke_radio` (
  `radio_id` int(10) unsigned NOT NULL auto_increment,
  `radio_name` varchar(150) NOT NULL default '',
  `radio_stream` varchar(150) NOT NULL default '',
  `radio_url` varchar(150) NOT NULL default '',
  `radio_picture` varchar(50) NOT NULL default '',
  `radio_language` varchar(30) NOT NULL default '',
  PRIMARY KEY  (`radio_id`)
) TYPE=MyISAM;

OK, I did that. Now:

Code:

INSERT INTO `nuke_radio` (`radio_id`, `radio_name`, `radio_stream`, `radio_url`, `radio_picture`, `radio_language`) VALUES (2, 'Radio Italia Network', 'mms://wmedia.rin.it/rin', 'http://www.progettovincita.com', '', ''),
etc. for another 120 or so stations

There is one more create table/insert table after these but first things first!

Worked fine, I've got a bodacious bunch of foreign language radio stations now... my girlfriend told me to turn down the racket. Embarassed One little problem is a big advertisement for... webhosting... that throws off the alignment of the page, so I deactivated the radio til I can remove that. Thanks for the SQL education, Raven!

Not yet, but it's a very interesting idea and I'll give it a try. Smile Anything I find I'll post in the other thread.

I appreciate your kind words but much of the credit for my small success with my site is owed to my hostmaster, and to certain others in the nuke community. Smile
