I have released Gender Hack SC_2.0 for:

Features:
+ Gender selection required at new user registration (can be turned on/off in admincp)
+ Image Besides Male/Female in Userinfo page.
+ Added New lang definitions
- Added images to the registration page
- Added images to the edituser page
- Users can select wich gender they are in the edituser page.

I have made marks to all changes in all files for Manual Install if You don't want to overwrite the orginals.
