I have no idea, guestbook worked fine until I upgraded, when I checked it out that is what comes up.

I figured it out, in the users table, user ID# 1 was Anonymous, left over from previous versions. As soon as it was removed all worked fine. Thanks for your help.

No, Apache, Linux

Also, just to be sure, when you reinstalled, did you user the virgin user prefs and only ...

Don't know, but try it, go to my site, sign guestbook with "Anonymous" it won't work. Then sign with anything else and it will work.

I installed a fresh copy all works again!

I was able to re-produce the problem:

You cannot have: Anonymous by itself

$defaultName = "Anonymous";

must be something with it

$defaultName = ...

Of course, it is set for all users and it is set in the prefs for all. It does not work for non-registered users.

First great module.

Problem, only registered users can sign guestbook. I have changed the settings that need cahnging, here is the line from user.pref.php

$only_registered_users_can_add = false ...
