After adding the tables to the database I neglected to log out/in my admin user and refresh page properly. After doing that all is working perfectly.

OK, themes.php seems to be fine. The dblog definately shows errors related to the install errors. Here is an example:

Made the 2.4 recommended changes as per security log. Replacing the Your_Account module causes an issue. When I attempt to login as a user to the site I get:

1. An HTTP 500 error in IE ...

It might be a javascript collision.

OK, I think I have found the issue. There was a javascript file that was called from the theme.php. Something to do with fading links after mouseover.
