| I SERIOUSLY appreciate your interest to help, however I ended up going with the Raven 7.6 distribution since it contained Nuke sentinal and groups 'preinstalled'

So, I decided to look at the code for this and found in admin/modules/nsngroups/NSNGroupsUsersAdd.php the way NSN Groups decides whether or not to show a user is based on two line ... |
