Sounds like the modules.php got corrupt in the transfer, Id sudjest you reupload your modules.php and make sure you upload it using binary settings.

There should not be any files ending in MYD or MYI within the nuke file set.
From phpmyadmin you could try the repair table option. That worked! Apparently something was corrupt within that table ... |
