I'm trying to promote my users so that they can post news, etc, but I always get the "ERROR: There was a problem with the database." message.

yah, i dunno.

i reinstalled 7.5 patched, made all the changes, then installed 4.3.1, and couldn't access admin panel. installed 4.2.1 and could access it fine (albeit no promote ability)

frustr ...

i installed the Chatservs Patched 7.5...i'm pretty sure, i'll try it again though, if not I'll follow your suggestion.
