if ($result < $myvar) { ... } // he hasn't completed the num of downloads yet
else { ... } // $result is greater-then over equal to $myvar

If you want to track the domain name there is only one, simple way, to do that.

The client site will connect to your online version checker as follow:

momsite.com/online_version_checker.php?vers ...
