alright guys.
just a quick one for you.
im going to be moving servers shortly and i would just like to ask what files i need from the server
obviously i need to dump mysql files but what folders do i need to take - and then edit if any.
do i just download and then upload the public_html folder or is there anything else that i need.
i have read a guide but it makes little or no sense to me.
if someone could explain simply what it is i actually do i would be most greatful
thanks

i would download all the contents of the public_html folder that are added after ur initial signup...then i would export ur database.
i would upload all the contents i download into ur ftp
then make a database and set it up exactly as u would starting a new nuke.
Some will say to make a backup via c-panel.....i have found this to be unreliable and more trouble then its worth.
my opinion though...others here know far more then i. |

Funny thing is that I have found this also to be the case. A real shame because I really like the concept. I end up getting files with funny extensions on them, and so, they end up being "not found"...
Good advice again their Mr. Darklord Sir. <-- there, is that better? |

You must have an excellent host or own your own server and have "control"... |
