I had an interesting problem today. Not sure what really started it, but every time I tried to use the "edit admins" function from the Administration Menu, it would Ban my IP. I kept deleting it manually from the DB, to get past it. Eventually, it quit doing it, and I really have not got a clue why.
However, I thought it might be wise to "protect" my IP from being banned, but when I go into the Nuke Sentinel admin menu, and select Protected Range Menu, I see the heading at the top of the page change to:
NukeSentinel(tm): Protected Range Menu , but there is nothing to admin" on the page, ie, the lower part of the page is blank.
I had added my IP address (actually, the whole range from 0 to 255 for my subnet), so would have thought I could access the Protected Range Menu. I can see the all the protected addresses, but am surprised that the PRotected Range Menu does not work...what does that do, exactly?????
Oh...one more related question: the GOD user in nuke_authors vs nuke_nsnst_admins..... do they need to both have the same user? what is the relationship between the two? Which one should I 'really' be using to log in as admin? (at this point I have created the same user name in each, but with different PWs..... I assume the nsnst admin is the one true GOD, but not sure. Can someone explain that to me?
Thanks!

Nice....how did you do that?
Setting yourself in that area is completely useless...
If everything works correctly, and all is set then you dont have nothing to fear...

When you login as admin thats the ID that should be administer the sentinel area, and thats the ID/name/user whatever that should be set as admin in the Admin Auth List.
And if anyone has any additional info that will guide/help you im sure they will post it. |

Thats the interesting part. I never really log in as admin. I believe it alway connects me as admin via a cookie, so I never actually log in. In fact, to see teh way my site "really" looks I have to log in from another computer, completely. The Admin Logout only "occassionally shows up, and it was right after I did the admin logout last time, that it started banning me after I logged in, and tried to use the "edit admin" from the Administration Menu.
Seems fine now, but I have NO idea why it stopped doing it. It banned me 3 time straight. I was ALREADY in as admin (saw the admin menu, etc), and had selected Edit Admins, and Boom.....Banned. But, Like I say...aint doing it now...Just trying to figure out what user is what....confusing for a me (a noob) as to what user does what, and why it doesn't require a PW every time I log in as admin, etc.
I shall limp along.... |

actually i think ur problem may be ur own pc...cookie corruption....or a time out in nuke sentinel....if u have auth admin active...it will time u out if ur idle (not doing anything to verify ur an admin) after so long...i believe this is set and not able to be adjusted...i could be wrong though. |
