Hello all in cpanel I try to backup a database but it only downloads a small file infact only about 300kb I know that the file should be around 5mb etc? I have other sites there that backup fine no problems etc.
has anyone have nay idea`s?

have you checked whats in the file and where it stops ?

thats not 300 kb and you know a backup doesnt look like that...
try to run the optimize and try the backup again....
and for the fun of it.....disable any security on your computer....just to rule out other reasons.. Smile

In addition to what hitwalker suggested, you could go into phpmyadmin and "browse" the tables. If there is data in them then your dump definitely shouldn't look like that. What you are seeing is what happens when the database is empty. Do you have the right name for the database in your dump? You can also dump the database (export) from phpmyadmin. Try that and see what happens.
