Midget bites the dust

Not what you was thinking but after many years of ownership, having restored her from a pile of rusting metal my MG Midget is finally leaving me.

Despite having won a number or MG enthusiasts awards at various places, it is time to let her go to a new owner.

I'm going to miss scraping an inch of ice off the inside of the windscreen this winter and the smell of petrol/oil when giving her a length (of throttle).
I think I'll miss even more the fact I can no longer fondle and fettle her intimate bits, tickle her carburettors or stare longingly at her headlamps.

At last I know what people are referring to when they say "trade her in for a newer model".
She has served me well, despite being older than my wife and she always starts first time and never complains if I want to give her a quick rub down (unlike the wife).

Well, hope when you upgraded, you didnt get the gps navigation cuz like most wives, it will tell you when to turn, EVEN when you dont ask it. ROTFL

Yup, she's a cherry red 1500 MG Midget with a Stage 2 tuned engine, fully adjustable suspension, 5 speed box (the original had 4) and every single nut, bolt and washer was fitted by my own hands.

At least she is leaving in style as a prize for a very worthy charity.

My next and final project before hanging up my spanners for good is a Supercharged 3.1litre V6 Mk1 Ford Capri - not exactly the standard engine but a great challenge and probably the closest I'm going to get to a Mk1 Mustang here in the UK.
