Hi again fellow php guys and gals...I have just been browsng the forums in search of some information and advise for intergrating a payment system to my new phpnuke site that i am building.

I have just read the information in the link http://www.ravenphpscripts.com/posts4638-highlight-oscommerce.html

I see that 2 solutions mentioned are oscommerce and phpnuke emporium.

Also mentioned is esolutions, but i have had a bad experience with product supposrt when trying to install this in the past....there appears to be no doccumentation to suppport succesful installation of this and the after sales support was very poor to say the least.

Can anyone recommed what i should use with my new RavenNuke76 v2.02.02 Distro installation.

eventually I want to be able to sell individual items and merchandise, so will probably require some kind of intergrated shopping cart, but initially i want to begin offering subscriptions to my website and so need to collect subscription payments.

Also, I see that as it stands, the minimumn subscription period my php site will allow a registered user is 1 year....I have just seen the following link but see no answer to the thread....

http://www.ravenphpscripts.com/posts9790-highlight-subscription.html

can i offer a shorter period to registered users than a year?.....if so, how do you add this to the drop down menu selection box?

Moved to modules from RN 2.x as this is not RN specific.

I think before you go any further down this road you need to carefully consider what options and functionality you might need in the long term.
The very last thing you want to do is install something in a rush because it seemed like a good idea at the time, then 2 or 3 months later realise it doesn't deal with subscriptions in multiple currencies, or allow auto-renewing subscriptions, or doesn't allow you to upload images or thumbnails of templates (if you were thinking of selling templates or other stuff that people may want to actualy 'see' before buying.................

The list goes on and on of course.
The worst scenario is, you have to change scripts and cannot transfer your payment records or access permissions based on subscriptions already made and everything goes pear shaped in a very big way!
You'll have to trust me on that, from personal experience!!

If you just need something to handle user subscriptions on a yearly basis, that is pretty much do-able right now.
If you just need something to handle subscriptions/access permissions there are a number of scripts about that will take care of that, some are free some are paid scripts.

If you were thinking along the lines of a fully fledged online shop, then you would probably be better of with a seperate site for that.

OSCommerce is great but I found it quite laborious setting it up and getting it to look right and eventually dropped it.

CCart is quite good, not looked at it in a while but it was pretty easy to use.

E-Solution, I still use on one site because I think it is the best compromise for my needs on that site (although a paid script it is available free if you look around).

Ithink work on Emporium has come to a halt which is a shame as I quite liked then when I trial tested it about a year ago.

Hi again Guardian2003,

I made a mistake previously, where I explained that I had problems once before with esolutions.

The package I meant to quote is called NUKE ROYAL, (http://www.nukeroyal.com). the guy there never wanted to gimme his time to make sure the installation was successful and as there was absolutely no documentation supplied at all, the whole process was a nightmare. I was continuously prommised that a manual would be available imminantly, but this never occured.

Is the official website for this Esolutions you roccomend located at the following link?....

http://www.esolutiononline.com

I wonder if it is easier for me to ask you what Esolutions will NOT let a user do which would make me consider seeking an alternative solution. If your reply referes to 'missing' functions that are not essential for my needs, then it may be best for me to just go with this free esolutions package?

Nuke Royals 'RoyalNuke' was the predecessor to E-Solution and both were sold and distributed from the same site.
One thing e-solution does not do is cater for tax and shipping but the next version which the author said would be release Christmas 2005 (and many are still waiting) was to include a full online shop with these features. (Most of the code is already there in the current package it is just commented out).

well i am certainly not going to give the guy any more of my money Guardian.

If http://www.esolutiononline.com is the same peoples as http://www.nukeroyal.com i guess I am going to have to seek out a completely different option to intergrate into my site.

Are there any other options available that anyone would like to recommend?

Also, what about altering the current minimumn duration of a yea for a user subscribing to my website...can I reduce this minumumn period to say, a month or 6 months etc?

hi again everyone. as i previously explained, I want to offer my websites registered users the oppertunity to subscribe, but for a period less than a year.

presently, from what I can see in my new RavenNuke76 v2.02.02 Distro installation, i can only offer a subscription for a year minimumn.

how can i make an option for 6 months or one month, etc?

The paypal script from NukeScripts would allow you to do this using NSN Groups. You actually set the subscription time via paypal so it is pretty flexible. I do this over at Nukehaven.net for Premium Memberships.

Ask Paypal to refund you if they can.
The script you 'bought' is available elsewhere for FREE

As far as I am aware their support forum is still closed so it is unlikely you will get any installation from their site.
The normal built in nuke subscriptions will allow you to make yearly subscriptions or there are other software that is at least supported.
