Theme Help

Does anybody know how i could convert themes? Because im wanting to convert this really nice Platinum Theme to a Nuke Theme.

Is it like a program that does it or do you have to edit the theme.php? Someone should make a tutorial lol

There is unfortunately no tutorial that I know of. Karakas' HOWTO manual has some material but it's not exhaustive enough to program from. Nuke themes have a common structure (set of functions) but some use html files as kind of templates for the layout and others just do the layout in the theme itself. I don't know anything about how Platinum themes work. You could put the Platinum code up against the code for a Nuke theme in an editor and see. One thing to be aware of is that there "interfaces" or function calls both between Nuke modules and the themes and between the themes and the core Nuke programs such as mainfile. If you don't get those right the theme won't work.

There are huge differences in the way a platnum theme and a nuke theme are created. It is time consuming but relativly doable to convert a nuke theme to platnum. Converting the other way around would simply be a nightmare. You might do better to look for a nuke version. Most platnum themes came from nuke versions first. What is the name of this theme?

There is an excellent tutorial in the book "Building Websites with PHP-Nuke" on how to modify/create themes in standard PHP-Nuke.
