Spam, Feedback and the Number 42

Happy New Year everyone! May this new year bring peace, joy and happiness to all of us.

Over the past few weeks the amount of spam feedback has increased dramatically and I have finally decided to do something about it. Naturally, I am caught between the desire to get the feedback and dealing with the spam.

I was positive that I read somewhere here that there was a feedback module with a catcha built in, but I cannot find it. (from VinDSL????) Something like that should essentially stop the spam. If there isn't one, is there something similar?

Any info would be appreciated. Thanks!

I think VinDSL posted it in the forums here - did you search?

I did find a number of references to a feedback module from VinDSL, but I don't see any captcha or anything to ensure the user is a person. There is some code to validate the email address, but spambots can and do get around that fairly easily. The module also included in Ravenphp, so its already installed.

I am not all that happy about adding the code myself as I simply do not (yet) want to spend the time. On the other hand, if I spent as much time with the code as I have talking about it, I might have had it done already. Wink

Raven is integrating a new captcha system into the upcoming 2.10 release of RavenNuke and it is in Feedback. Dance-Y
