Intergrate it into the News Comments section

How would i integrate it so we have the WYSIWYG reply box in the News comments section...

It was added to the News admin section and the Submit News part, but not the News Comments in RNv2.02.02 ?

Any help would be great ... Very Happy

to get the WYSIWYG editor in your News modules comments do this

Open yoursite/modules/News/comments.php

Find (around line 695)

Code:

echo "<font class=\"option\"><b>"._UCOMMENT.":</b></font><br>"


       ."<textarea wrap=\"virtual\" cols=\"50\" rows=\"10\" name=\"comment\"></textarea><br>"

Replace it with this below

Code:

echo "<font class=\"option\"><b>"._UCOMMENT.":</b></font><br>";


   //add WYSIWYG editor 


   wysiwyg_textarea("comment", "", "NukeUser", "50", "10");


   //    ."<textarea wrap=\"virtual\" cols=\"50\" rows=\"10\" name=\"comment\"></textarea><br>"


       echo "<font class=\"content\">"._ALLOWEDHTML."<br>";

You get the jist anyways ! just compare the code you will see what i did, it worked okay on my site !

Essentially I just replaced

Code:

."<textarea wrap=\"virtual\" cols=\"50\" rows=\"10\" name=\"comment\"></textarea><br>" 





With





wysiwyg_textarea("comment", "", "NukeUser", "50", "10")

lol well i tested it and found that it worked, but (always a but with me !)

When you write your comment and hit preview it went to the old style .. so i found the other place where you needed to add the same code above, its around lines 789 (just search for text area) it will come up....

So now i had the WYSIWYG working on the submit news comment, BUT ! told ya Laughing

when you hit preview it doesn't save the message you have wrote Crying or Very sad

so its pretty crap !

Any help plz much appreciated,

Ive also added the WYSIWYG to my Clan Links module, Web Links Submit, Downloads Submit ... erm Ah Surveys Module and the Surveys was having this same issue too

When you hit preview or when you submit AFTER hitting preview?

WYSIWYG doesn't affect that way Nuke stores the comments, and there may be code that removes all WYSIWYG from comments. I'd suggest making comments text only (i.e. no HTML) to discourage spammers.

Yup i agree there with you about no HTML can this be done for the WYSIWYG ?

It submitted fine, it didnt show what i wrote in the WYSIWYG after i hit preview ..

Hmm it showed what i wrote, fine at the top of the screen where you preview your post, then say if a wanted to make edits to that, it was missing from the WYSIWYG editor ...

Normally, the WYSIWYG editor isn't applied to the comments field. I don't understand what you're trying to accomplish.

ha ha well why didn't you tell me that before i started !

I just thought it would have looked a lot better and easier ... Confused
