Email notification of new user

Hi

I am totally new with Nuke 7.6 (but have used phpBB once). On the old board I was able to get email notification when somone had regsitered and was waiting Admin validation.

Now on the Nuke Board in the php Admin panel, (configuration) I have Enable account activation ticked as Admin.
I made a tester account and got it but since then a friend has joined (I didnt get email notification, I found out when going to the board)

Is there anyway I can get this corrected so I get email notification so I can validate a person instead of them coming in and spamming my site?

However, I did have a friend who gave me code to put in /modules/Your_Account/index.php (around line 1769)
This is the code (it was changed from case "new user" to the below code. Unfortunately it hasnt worked since (as per my friend loging in).

   confirmNewUser($username, $user_email, $user_password, $user_password2, $random_num, $gfx_check);


   break;

I look forward to a positive reply as I cannot afford to have anyone registering and then spamming my site.

You say the case was change but the code snippet you include still reads [b]case "new user". Are you sure this is correct?

Hi Raven mate.. thanks for getting time to reply.

NOW I look at the same file (but on the pack not uploaded) it is the same!!!!!
OK Raven, seems that my friend assumed that it wasnt there. Anyway is there ANYWAY that I can get email notifications to come to me so I[b] CAN activate the members accounts (yes it is set for admin validation).

As you can understand it is good to activate the person/s after screening thier information/email. So if you can get back to me with a solution etc it would be greatly appreciated. If you are stuck with it I am more than happy to give you access to the site to look at it yourself if required.
