Cant update the preferences home page text and update blocks

Hello all, after the upgrade I cant update the home page text you seen in the box in preferences, I also add a custom block in blocks menu and when I press create nothing appears Confused

any idea`s where to start looking?

Are you talking about preferences in the Administration Screen? If so, what home page text? The site slogan? Or something else?

What exactly are you trying to do with blocks? Does the block file already exist in the blocks folder? Are you writing a new block? Or are you trying to include something external to the site?

Yes the preferences logo thats in the Administration Screen if you click that you get text where you can edit the home page text. basically if I empty it or change the text and save nothing happens it stays the same also with the blocks its a case of I just cant add any new blocks even if they are in the blocks directory etc, I add the block and go to create and nothing appears in the blocks list or on the site I guess the two problems maybe be linked?

mrix, what did you upgrade from? This sounds like a disconnect between the nuke_messages, nuke_blocks and nuke_modules due to NSN Groups.

Hello I upgraded from the latest patched 7.6 phpnuke to the latest raven nuke

I'm sorry I must be dense. When I look at preferences in the admin screen I get an area headed by "general site info" that has "site name", "site logo", "site url" going down the left side ... etc. Which field are you trying to change?

Reading your post over it does almost sound like you are getting a SQL error behind the scenes and it's not completing the update. You could try something innocuous like changing the site slogan and see if that "takes". If that fails you probably have incompletely installed some of the tables and that's causing a SQL error.

I have checked and its if you click on the edit link from the front page when logged in as admin thats where you see a text box to edit.

Yes, based on your previous post as to where you "came from", I am convinced you are trying to update your Message (and Block), but you do not have the necessary NSN Groups fields.

In the HowToInstall Manual, did you follow the "Upgrade" instructions for migrating from a non-RN version to RN? Step 6 talks about NSN Groups and I think you might have missed this step?
