I am (I thought) at the ending of creating a script to provide a dynamic sitemap each time it is called.

However, I am not 100% sure what I am doing Very Happy Very Happy

I echo a line in the output file to define the xml as UTF-8 and the resulting file looks fine to me but when I check it through a validator it tell me that
Quote:

HTTP-Charset (iso-8859-1) does not match UTF-8

I don't understand the difference (I have wiki'd it) but I would like to know if I can simply echo a different charset at the beginning of the xml file or is some content in my XML file in conflict with the UTF-8 standard

Thanks

Paul

OK, don't worry about this post as I have now fixed the problem myself.

Now, I have a new bit of working code that produces fully compliant dynamic Google Sitemap Indexes and Sitemaps on the fly

Is anyone interested in this?

If you are I would like to know if you are Google Tapped or not.

The reason I ask is that I had something similar on PHPBB and my site was fully indexed by google without any need for tapping and I think it was because of my sitemaps. I may be wrong as google indexing is a bit of black art.

The upshot is that I was trying to find a way to have google index my nuke site without the need for tapping.

Respond here or PM me if you would like to test my code

Paul

Once nukeFEED is ready (hopefully, very soon!), we'll be working on an update to nukeSEO with lots of cool new features...

I did look the site over previously with great interest, but wasn't sure which download did what as in the download section there was no detail (I thought) about what each download did.

I'll take another look.

Anyway, it's all good practise (for me!)

I agree. I prefer to do things myself as it is the only way that I learn. But, I always try to review and use other people's work too as I also learn from looking at what they have done. nukeSEO has definitely done that for me.
