Hi, after a small email-discussion with montego, I have decided to post a thread.

Sometimes at the admin and user-login the CAPTCHA picture is missing. After a few refreshes (or F5's) the image re-appears again. This is totally random, but does never take more than about 3 refreshes.

Montego's experience was the same as mine: this only happens on Windows-based systems. Since I am forced to use a XP system, I ran also into this phenomenon.

My software setup: Window XP Pro, RN 2.10 running on Appserv 2.5.8 (This is a WAMP solution of Apache 2.2.4, MySQL 5.0.27 and PHP 5.2.1.

Anybody any suggestions? I have seen some other posts, but this was for the your-account module (registration).

together with a lot of fresh coffee like...

You might have a bad font the includes/fonts folder

Maybe try deleting all but one and putting them back one at a time and see if one of them has a problem

I had a similar problem where somehow my font files had a 0 size. Re-uploading the files fixed it for me. Good luck.

Ok, I admit: I've hitted myself a couple of times.... For an unknown reason (read: 100% stupidity of me) I copied accidentally the two .JS files from the FCKeditor to this directory....

Stupido me.... the CAPTCHA script was reading those javascript files, since it picks randomly some files from /includes/fonts. Initially I thought these files belonged in this directory.

So as long as there are only font-files in /includes/fonts it works for me (and probably for the rest of the people using CAPTCHA on this planet)!

Anyway, thanks for your quick response and help. The link mentioned above and the hint of the fontfiles was enough to send a non-maskable interrupt to my tiny brain.

Martijn
