I just updated my Nukesentinel to the latest 2.5.10 but running RN 2.10.00 still.
I read that RN2.10.01 will upgrade sentinel to 2.5.08. Does this mean it will downgrade my sentinel to 2.5.08, to where I will have to upgrade sentinel again?
Also, I only see RN 2.10.01 FULL. I didn't see a patch only package. Do I use the Full package to upgrade?
Thanks

There is no patch only product.
Yes, I guess it's true that if you install the full RN2.10.01 package you will wind up with Sentinel 2.5.08. So, yes you'd have to upgrade Sentinel again. But that's just a matter of copying files and upgrading the version number. It's not feasible to do a full RN minor version upgrade every time Sentinel is upgraded. And even if the RN team had time to repackage the full distribution and update the upgrade scripts for every Sentinel release I doubt that we'd want to have the RN2.10.01 distribution you downloaded say on May 1 be different in any way from the one you downloaded on May 15. Ultimately these decisions are Raven's to make but that's my 2 cents from participating in and observing the project for a while. |

Very understandable, thank you.
The Sentinel upgrading is easy as pie anyway. Just wasn't sure if downgrading the table would be problematic. |

I don't believe it will downgrade your NukeSentinel(tm) tables, just the files. So you would have to re-upload the 2.5.10 upgrade distro files only.
Of course, fkelly, if I have not understood your patch installer properly, please do not hesitate to correct. |

No that's correct M. The installer that comes with RN 2.10.01 at this point is totally ignorant about NS 2.5.10. I haven't even looked at NS 2.5.10 yet so I don't know if there are any table changes in it. There are in some of the version to version upgrades and in others the only thing that's changed is the version number. Right now users have to do their own due diligence in getting from 2.5.08 to 2.5.09 and then from there to 2.5.09 to 2.5.10. |

I guess my question still remains about whether to use the FULL package to upgrade from 2.10.00 to 2.10.01. Reason is the HowToInstall says this:
If you are upgrading from version 2.10.00 to 2.10.01, just use the provided Patch download and follow the instructions in the README file. You would NOT want to use the FULL download, nor these instructions here. But if you are coming from 2.02.02, read on.
I have not seen a "Patch Download"....only the FULL.
Is it safe to follow these HOWTO upgrade instructions? |

Yes, sorry about that, but when I wrote the HowToInstall instructions, I thought that a patch distro was going to be created. There is only one download and it is the full package. However, there is a list of the changed files in the README file that is pointed out in the HowToInstall manual, but I always recommend using a tool such as Beyond Compare 2 or Winmerge to do full directory level comparisons, especially if you have modified any of the core RN files yourself. |

I made the upgrade fine but I just noticed that on my modules admin screen, it says that "nukesentinel" is status "inactive", yet I am able to launch sentinel admin from the icon. I don't think sentinel is inactive because it caught a hacker a few days ago.
Any ideas about this? |

Do not confuse modules with the administration tools. NukeSentinel is turned on by using the NukeSentinel(tm) administration control panel tool. What you see under Modules is the module components of NukeSentinel that I personally have never really found all that useful so I have never activated them.
You are perfectly fine. |
